It was an early morning start for racing today,
as forecasts for strong wind changes prompted an early call to athletes
to be out on the water for an 11 am start.
So .. volunteers had to be bright and sparky too...
John wore a big smile
the chefs are cooking up a storm every night ..
They are going to need a holiday next week!
some of the teams were in selfie mode
Rex is driving the Media around and doing a wonderful job
so .... wake up guys and girls ... the start crew are waiting at the boats..
Kim had time for yet another coffee!!
and a few photos on the run... Yay Netherlands!
John was listening ,
some of the German Sonar team were just hanging around
... it was time to head down the wharf

... to our respective boats....
put the chiefs and their Indians on board
Lets pack day to day away ... and Go Sailing !!!
We scooted over to the 2.4 Mt fleet for a look at progress...
it was an impressive scene
.. it as a perfect start to the day
... the sun was bright on both the water and sails
There were lone rangers, wind shifts,
and plenty of "Up Up Up"
... and so it was time to move on to the Skuds..
The teams were running the line ...
not much happened until the coloured sails went up...
Red was popular this year !
a very pretty sight ..
colourful spinnakers and the first of summer skies
a bit of angle action ...
The Westgate Bridge behind
Team Italia
Canadians around the mark
and then out to the Sonar course
just in time for Race 2
there was a bit of lively wave action
sun , light, and bright
forwards,
and backwards
A line up for the starters gun
a brace position ..
the Aussies were looking good
as they rounded the mark
