Lets run over to the Sonar class race course first and check out how the teams went
It was all very pretty blues to start with the Norwegian team

... with close competition at the finish line
.. there were 360's on the finish line !
some seemed more relaxed
others kept it bright
The USA team was hanging out ..
Maserati were hot..
The Italian team were putting in a big effort
... the Koreans too
a wee bit of Ireland here

The Spanish team above and the Japanese team below

a nice line ... mostly
plenty of white sails to measure ...
and while they headed off , we ...

gunned the engines and went for a skud view ...
big smiles .. from Russell and Kim
a few laughs foe Brett and Ame
some time to stretch for the Polish team .
New Zealand were getting organised ...
The Malaysian team
Canadians too...
Now its time for serious ...
turn the corner , and throw up the coloured sails
Coloured and sails and a Melbourne skyline...
Dan and Leisl are hard to beat..
John was going low profile ..
and lastly a visit to the 2.4 Mt boats
who had a visitor travelling quietly across the course
a very picturesque 'Coota Boat'
with afternoon sun on the sails ...
and then it was time
to pack up our lunch bags,
and head back to the dock ...
where the support teams waited
the lunch ladies were hopefully having a break...from the amazing catering they have been doing
RVYC staff too,...
Fernanda , our Olympic representative from Brazil
was giving out a few hugs..
and bloggers and photographers are preparing
... to walk the plank again tomorrow
