Let the racing begin
All was busy at the docks as three classes of yachts readied to cast off
and sail out for the first day of racing ...
hmm , not sure if Dan and John are busy... Leisl and Jackie must be busy ...
the sun was shining , which made everyone happy
the water sparkled on the 2.4 Mt fleet
there was grit and determination
a cast of hundreds at least ...
the 2.4 MT fleet had a couple of goes at starting
but finally got away
so it was soon abandoned...
there was some excitement at the buoy rounding..
.. and after all that .. we headed across to the pretty skuds, to catch their spinnaker run
.. in time to see Race 2
were playing the angles...
some were crossing swords ...
...and then cutting straight to the mark
one by one
and then up went the spinnakers'
in an array of colour
quite a show for the crowd getting an 'eye' full.

Measurers were out and about
a bit more action on the skud course
we raced across the bay to Altona where the Sonar class are racing
the crew of Thorsen keeping watch

there were Sonars every which way
but they soon sorted into a line
the afternoon sun was sparkling like ... Champagne
we were almost speechless...
teams , tactics and racing back and forth..
a quick stop to check out the little people again
.. and coach boat parking
and it was time to end the day on the water ...
